Course Description
This course is designed to prepare senior engineering officers for management-level responsibilities related to the operation, supervision, and maintenance of high voltage electrical installations on board ships, in accordance with the requirements of the STCW Convention.
The training focuses on advanced high voltage system management, including design principles, power generation and distribution, protection and control systems, fault analysis, system redundancy, and risk management. Special emphasis is placed on leadership, safety management systems, development of operational procedures, permit-to-work systems, and compliance with international safety and environmental regulations.
Upon successful completion, participants will be competent to manage and supervise high voltage operations, ensure safe working practices, make informed decisions during normal and emergency conditions, and maintain the reliability and safety of shipboard high voltage electrical systems.
