Engine Room Resource Management

This course is designed to improve the safe and efficient operation of the engine department through the effective management of all available resources, including personnel, equipment, and information, in accordance with the principles and requirements of the STCW Convention.

The training focuses on the development of non-technical skills essential for engine-room operations, such as leadership, teamwork, communication, situational awareness, decision-making, and workload management. It addresses human factors, error management, and risk awareness, emphasizing the prevention of accidents and machinery failures through effective coordination within the engine-room team and with other shipboard departments.

Through theoretical instruction and practical exercises, participants develop the competence to apply Engine Room Resource Management principles during normal operations and emergency situations, thereby enhancing safety, reliability, and operational efficiency in the engine department.
